Ethics and Communication

I've been having a little trouble coming up with ideas for this blog, but recently i realized that it would be easier to relate communications ideas to things that I know in everyday life if i find an "in-between". So i chose sports. Rather than relating the communications ideas to happenings in my everyday life, I figured that sports would be a lot easier, and i don't necessarily have to wait for something to happen. This blog will probably concentrate on the role of sports media, criticisms of this role, and analyzing verbal and non-verbal communication traits of athletes. I see that athletes, who are trained to use their bodies to make a living, use non-verbal communication much more readily. I think that they chose this form because if feels natural to them, and because fans and the media analyze their words very closely. This makes them communicate in alternative ways, typically manifesting in their body language, playing styles, and interactions with their coaches and teammates. So in doing this blog i will look at these communications and interactions, and explain thier effect on other athletes and the people who admire them.
